Experimehtal Studies on the Skin Mast Cells of Mices

Abstract
The author studied the quantitative distribution of mast cells in the skin of mature mice and their cytoplasmic granules after administration of INH 20 mg/kg, INH 20mg/kg plus pyridoxine hydrochloride 10 mg/kg, and INH 20 mg/kg plus reserpine 3mg/kg, respectively, and obtained the following conclusions.
1. Administration of INH resulted in marked decrease and destruction of mast cells with degranulation.
2. By combined use of INH and pyridoxine the mast cells were observed as decreased initially and increased later transiently.
3. By combined use of INH and reserpine elicited marked decrease in number of the mast cells and demolition of the cytoplamic granules resulting in gradual increase of vacuoles. Any ruptured cells and degranulation were scarcely observed.
4. It comes to a conclusion that the INH and reserpine in a large dose may be affected hazardous to the tissue mast cells while the pyridoxine, vitamin B act protectively against to any injuries of the cells, and may be related to formation of the cytoplasmic granules of mast cells.
